Silver Post Medal for All Time! 408 Posts Christmas is around the corner, and nothing is as special as a handmade card. This card features a delicate little angel, blowing merrily on a trumpet, celebrating the joy of the season.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Yield: one card
Supplies:
- 5.6 x 8.2 in tortilla colored textured cardstock
- 5.4 x 3.7 in cream colored handmade tissue paper
- 1.2 in wide brown paper ribbon with printed music notes
- 3.4 x 3 in white lace material
- A7 size piece of white printer paper
- A7 size piece cut from a white glitter foam sheet
- A7 size piece of wax paper
- brass scourer
- two small self-adhesive 3D foam squares
- flesh colored paint
- Giotto décor gold opaque metal pen
- Artline 210 Fineliner black pen
- pink felt-tip pen
- quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)
- standard scissors
- paintbrush
- pencil
Steps:
- Score the 5.6" x 8.2" tortilla colored textured cardstock to create a card sized 5.6" x 4.1".
- With the fold at the top, centre and glue the cream colored paper to the front of the card.
- Glue a strip of brown paper ribbon across the front of the card and cut off any protruding edges.
- Gather the lace material together and glue it to the card to make the angel's dress.
- Paint half of the A7 piece of white printer paper with the flesh paint and allow to dry thoroughly. Once dry, cut a circle with a diameter of 1" from the flesh colored paper for the angel's face. Glue the face in place.
- Draw a simple trumpet on the remaining piece cut from the white printer paper. Color it with the gold pen, cut it out and glue it to the card. Cut a small hand from the remaining flesh painted piece of paper and glue it to the card. Then cut a white sleeve from the piece of glitter foam and glue it in place.
- Cut small pieces from the brass scourer and glue it the card to make the angel's hair. Use the black pen to add the eye, and the pink pen to add a rosy cheek.
- Cut a wing from the wax paper. Use the gold pen to add some detail to the wing. Allow to dry before gluing the wing in place. Use glue to affix the narrow end of the wing next to the body, and the two self-adhesive 3D foam squares to affix the opposite end of the wing.
- Use the black pen to add a few music notes around the trumpet.
