I know these can be big gifts...but I LOVE when someone does something special for my home. Be it a ceiling fan installation, a much needed repair of a toilet, or a new light installed. Doesn't matter. Anything pertaining to my home is what I really love.
Hand-made slipper sox. My mother knits beautifully and sends a pair every year. They're perfect for keeping my feet (and ankles) warm, particularly when working at my computer (the PC fans are under the desk and constantly blow cool air).
I was 15. I had my Appaloosa horse for almost a year, and was using an old, beat up saddle and bridle on him. Christmas morning, as everyone came into the livingroom, there on the piano bench, was the most beautiful, brand new western saddle, blanket pad, and bridle with a huge red bow on it !!!!!!!! I had never said anything to my parents about wanting a new saddle --I was very willing to keep using the old one, so this great gift was totally unexpected.
