Christmas Memorial Ornament

Yield: One ornament

Supplies:

• plastic ornament from the Dollar Tree
• bouquet of flowers/leaves
• pretty ribbon/bow with spiraling
• ribbons
• sparkly red ribbon for tying a bow around the top of the ornament
• scissors
• paint markers or paint or permanent.
• markers

Steps:

1. Get your supplies together.
2. Cut all flowers or leaves from the bouquet.

 
3. Pull off the disk from underneath the flower.

4. Fold up the flower and roll into a cylinder.

 
5. Put flower into ornament.

 
6. Add the memorial or funeral card by folding it in half and rolling it up.
7. Write or paint your loved one's name and the date(s).
8. Put in more leaves and tie ribbon around the top of the ornament.

 
9. Put some shiny parts from the flower into the ornament.

10. Replace ornament top and tie spiral ribbon through the loop at the top.

 
11. Place on Christmas tree or use as a stand-alone decoration.

My mom passed 2 years ago. I was given her jewelry box, lots of memories there and I wanted to share them with the rest of the family. I purchased the clear plastic balls, inserted a little batting for a base and put a favorite pin or brooch inside and finished with a little ribbon.

Each of us now has a memory ornament for our tree. When my husband passed 3 years ago, the funeral home sent a beautiful glass angel with his name and date he passed.
