St. Joseph's Catholic school is building a float for our Christmas parade. The theme is past, present, and future. We would like to keep a religious base. Maybe the present could be Jesus the light of the world?

You could do noahs ark for the past, a scene from your modern day traditional church for the present and maybe the second coming of Christ for the future.
I would recommend using Heaven as the future. You could have angels and the Pearly Gates. The past could be the Nativity.
PAST ----I would go with a theme of the baby Jesus being born.
PRESENT---- Grown Jesus with his hands raised in glory of the lord.
FUTURE----------Glorious Angels with halos.
