Instead of the usual gift of cookies or candy, take about 10 minutes to call or visit a shut in person and it will be the best gift you could possible give. If possible, read them a Bible passage and you will be long remembered.

We have visited shut in persons from our church, took them a small Christmas tree, a bag of groceries appropriate for Christmas cooking, we visited in their home, prayed with them, read the Bible to them and served communion after reading the scriptures to them. Very memorable time.
