For most card makers the upcoming Christmas event will be celebrated with handmade joy. This darling, but to the point Christmas card is easily made from just a few supplies. They will bring joy to the heart of the receiver, by remembering the real reason for the season and reminding others of your faith. You can make many of these up in an hour. The end result will look like Scherenschnitte a famous German cutting technique that is very popular and takes lots of time and precision. Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Take the computer paper and print off in black and white a picture of the nativity scene. Make sure the size will fit your card stock. (My card stock was recycled from a publishing plant and it is 5 inches x 7 inches. My picture measured 2.75 x 1.5 inches.) Nativity Christmas card 1

  2. Print off "Keep Christ in Christmas" on another piece of paper sized to fit your card stock and image. Nativity Christmas card - Keep Christ in Christmas printout.

  3. Fold your 5 x 7 inch card stock in half. Nativity Christmas card 4 - Folded blank card.

  4. Cut out the Nativity scene around the edges and glue it in place on the outside of the folded card stock with the rubber cement.

  5. Next cut out the "Keep Christ in Christmas" and paste it under the Nativity scene. (You can make your envelope or use an already made invitation envelope.)

  6. Add some nice words to the inside of the card and you are done.

Suggestions: These make great fast and easy paper cutting cards and are very popular. Copy your Nativity scene and words on a copy machine to give it a really dark look. You can embellish your card more if you like, but with this particular card I wanted it to look like German paper cutting. I think it gives it finesse. I love to use the rubber cement on quick items because if you goof up you can rub off the glue easily and clean up is fast.
