It's not always the expensive gifts that people remember at Christmas, but the feelings of the season. Those feelings build memories that are a part of all of us, and will hopefully never be forgotten.
One that clearly stands out in my memory bank is the year my daughter was 3, almost 4 years old at Christmas. We were headed out to my cousin's home for Christmas Eve. It was cold and a little snowy. Just as we set foot out our front door, we heard "HO HO HO, MERRRRY CHRISTMAS!". Someone a street over from ours was having a party, and clearly there was a Santa also attending. The timing was perfect. If we had set out a minute before or after Santa's "cheer", we would have missed it, and my daughter would never have heard Santa that night! I never saw her eyes so big!

What a sweet memory. I sure miss the Santa days. I have two adult teenagers now and it's harder to keep the wonder alive. I remember one year when the older one was suspicious and we had to talk fast to keep the secret. My husband had the brilliant notion to turn on the NORAD about Santa on Christmas Eve. My oldest scooted right off to bed.
Merry Christmas!
