This year, make Christmas character gift tags and add a fun element to your gifts. The instructions below will show you how to make reindeer and snowman gift tags, but let you imagination run wild. You can make a penguin or Santa gift tag in the same way. This is also a family friendly activity that mom and the kids can do together to make wrapping all those gifts a joy instead of a burden. Whoo-hoo!
Total Time: 20 minutes to complete both tags
Supplies:
- A6 sized brown cardstock
- A6 sized white cardstock
- A5 sized ordinary white printer paper
- long red pipe cleaner
- pair of 15mm red wiggle eyes
- pair of 15mm blue wiggle eyes
- 15mm red pompom
- strip of orange felt
- fine silver embroidery floss
- Artline 210 fineliner black pen
- standard scissors
- quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)
- round plastic lid with a diameter of 2.6"
Steps:
Instructions for making the reindeer gift tag:
- Use the lid to trace a circle on the white printer paper and one on the brown cardstock. Cut both circles out.
- On the circle cut from the white printer paper, use the black pen to write the words "To" and "From" in cursive writing.
- Cut a piece of embroidery floss. Fold the floss in half and make a knot at the opposite end. Glue the floss to the back of the white circle to hang the gift tag.
- Glue the brown circle to the back of the white circle.
- Glue the red eyes and red pompom nose to the gift tag.
- Cut a 4.4" piece from the long pipe cleaner, fold it in half and twist each side to form the antlers. Glue it in place.
- Cut two ears from the brown cardstock and glue them to the tag.

- Glue the white cardstock circle to the back of the white printer paper circle.
- Glue the blue eyes to the gift tag and use the black pen to draw a squiggly mouth.
