What type of glue do you use to attach the jewelry to the fabric? I want something that I know will stick, but I don't want it to be noticeable. Thanks for your time and consideration.

I would use Gorilla Glue.
I usually try to find jewelry with the pin backs still on them when I have made small trees, but when that didn't work, I used a low temp glue gun and low temp glue sticks. I learned from a friend, you can't use the high temperature glue guns/sticks or you can melt the fabric...especially if you are using a velvet type background...she had quite the mess on her hands when the glue melted the velvet.
Hot glue will be to clumpy. Gorilla Glue is your best bet. Strong and inconspicuous.
I agree that Gorilla Glue would be the best.
