Making a Paper Plate Christmas Tree Wreath

Total Time: 20 minutes

Yield: one wreath

Supplies:

• standard white economy paper plate
• green glitter foam sheet
• red foam sheet
• lime green acrylic paint
• 7 in of suitable red ribbon
• two 15mm red pom-poms
• red glitter
• star-shaped cookie cutter
• Christmas tree cookie cutter
• two round plastic lids, one with a diameter of 8
• a 10/32" paint brush
• quick-drying craft glue, such as Bostik Clear
• pencil
• standard scissors

Steps:

1. Place and centre the 5.1" plastic lid onto the paper plate and trace all around it. Do the same with the bigger lid.
2. Cut out the inner and outer circles to make the paper base for the wreath.
3. Paint the paper plate with the lime green paint and allow to dry thoroughly.

 
4. Use the star-shaped cookie cutter to trace 2 stars onto the red foam sheet and 1 star onto the green glitter foam sheet. Cut the stars out.

5. Use the Christmas tree cookie cutter to trace 2 trees onto the green glitter foam sheet and cut the trees out.

 
6. Glue the stars and trees to the paper wreath.
7. Add a pom-pom to the top of each tree.

 
8. Use the glue to draw squiggles on the open areas of the wreath. Dust with red glitter while the glue is still wet and shake off excess glitter. Allow to dry thoroughly.
9. Fold the ribbon in half and glue it to the back of the plate. Once dry, the wreath is ready to hang.
