Silver Post Medal for All Time! 408 Posts Make a miniature angel and add some festive cheer to your Christmas decorations. Your guests will love this little darling! With her feathered wings and cute smile she is ready to sing some Christmas carols.
Total Time: 45 minutes
Yield: one angel
Supplies:
- empty 50ml glass liquor bottle
- polystyrene ball with a diameter of 45mm
- two pieces of 4" x 4" unbleached linen
- 6 small cream feathers
- pair of 8mm wiggle eyes
- 3 8mm clear self-adhesive flat-sided flower rhinestones
- packet of two minute noodles
- 0.2" wide sheer organza ribbon
- needle and thread
- flesh paint
- Artline 210 Fineliner black pen
- red felt-tip pen
- paintbrush
- standard scissors
- polystyrene glue
- quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)
Steps:
- Use the scissors to make a small opening in the polystyrene ball, so that the ball would be able to fit on the neck of the glass bottle.
- Use the polystyrene glue to glue the ball on the neck of the bottle and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Paint the ball with the flesh paint and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Add a running stitch to the first linen square, 0.2" from the top of the square. Add the second square to the same thread.
- Fold the two squares around the bottle and gather the frills of the dress together before ending the running stitch with a secure knot.
- Use a piece of the ribbon to glue a collar around the top of the dress.
- Break the noodles into small pieces and glue it to the polystyrene ball to make the angel's hair.
- Use the feathers to make the wings. Glue the feathers - three on each side - to the back of the angel's dress.
- Glue the wiggle eyes in place. Use the black pen to add eyebrows, nostrils, and a mouth. Use the red pen to add two rosy cheeks, and then the black pen again to add freckles.
- Glue the three rhinestones to the front of the angel's dress. Make a small bow and glue it to the collar of her dress.
