This year, I wanted to do something different for Christmas. Keeping up with the green trend, I wanted to have a Christmas tree that would be friendly towards nature.
I asked my gardener to cut a branch from a camphor tree. I trimmed the branch to the correct size, planted it in a pot and then painted it with ordinary white acrylic paint, which I happened to have at hand.
I used some decorations that I had available to add some "bling," and voila! A different type of tree for Christmas this year!

My late mother did that once several years ago, only she used a much fuller branch and what she did was walk through our shelter belt, looking at branches that had fallen off the trees until she found the right one. She spray painted and put lights and ornaments on it. She had seen something similar in a home decorating magazine. Everybody thought it was really neat.
I am going to do this idea, and for every holiday that comes around I will make a small theme tree! What a wonderful idea!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind feedback, glad you liked it! :-)
You're awesome! We did this one year, when I was a kid, the same exact thing - a white tree branch, and it was my favourite Christmas tree ever! I'd forgotten about it - I havent had a tree in years, but now for next year I might do this!
