Making a Pasta Christmas Tree

Total Time: 60 minutes (not including drying time)

Yield: 1 tree

Supplies:

• 1 foam cone, 8.8" in height
• about 1 cup dry penne pasta
• gold spray paint
• red acrylic paint
• paint brush
• 1 piece of farfalle pasta
• craft glue

Steps:

1. Start by firmly poking the penne into the bottom of the cone at a slight angle. Make sure the holes are exposed.

 
2. Keep making rows above, staggering the pasta.

 
3. Build your way to the top. Don't crowd the top section because there is less foam to work with, you don't want it to break into bits.

4. Spray paint the tree gold. Let dry.

 
5. Give it another coat of paint. Let dry.

 
6. Paint all the front sections of the pasta openings with a bit of red.

 
7. Paint the farfalle pasta red. Let dry.

 
8. Glue the red farfalle to the top of the tree.
