A friend gave me ten of these silver Christmas bulbs that someone had decorated with a writing paint, so I decided to upcycle them using the "paint pour" technique.

Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 1
Supplies:
foam
plastic cups
Popsicle sticks
bulb
Elmer's Glue All glue
acrylic paint
water
ribbon
optional - spray varnish
Steps:
Insert Popsicle or craft stick into foam to use as a stand to hold bulb in place while painting. Remove hardware on bulb and insert the opening of the bulb over the Popsicle stick.
Using a plastic cup, make a mixture of pouring medium. I made a pouring mixture using one part craft acrylic paint, one part Elmer's Glue-All, and added a small amount of water to thin it to the right consistency. Use as many colors as desired, but 3 or 4 colors is a good amount for this small project.

Taking another cup, pour some of each pouring mixture, one at a time into the cup. Then, pour over the top of the bulb and let it drip down. I squirted a little more of the red acrylic to add more red to the bulb. If desired, sprinkle with glitter.
Let dry 24 hours. Spray varnish to add luster. Add a ribbon trim to the bulb hardware for hanging purposes.
