Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts This is a twist on the famous Christmas song, "Feliz Navidad." The little sheep is showing off his fleece, which is simply made of pieces of cotton balls. This is fabulous all-ages craft. Happy holidays!
Total Time: 1 hour
Yield: 1 card
Supplies:
- blue card stock
- scissors
- green card stock
- cotton balls
- white glue
- black felt
- red felt
- pen
Steps:
- Fold your blue paper in half then cut to the desired card size.
- Cut a thin strip of the green cardstock and place it over the card horizontally. Trim the end so it's exactly the same width.
- Glue the green onto the blue.
- Cut a couple cotton balls into thirds.
- Roll the mini cotton pieces between your thumb and index finger to reshape into balls.
- Place little blobs of glue down in the center of the card and attach the mini cotton balls.
- Work your way down, making the body of the sheep, and stop well before the green line.
- To make the legs, cut 2 small rectangles from the black felt and round off the feet.
- Glue under the sheep's body and a bit onto the green strip.
- Add some tiny cotton balls at the top of the legs so you can't see the transition.
- To make the sheep's head, cut a black square of felt about the same width as the glue-on feet.
- Cut into a T-shape, then round off the edges to make the head and ears, as pictured. Do not glue head on body yet.
- Cut a T-shape out of the red felt, bigger than the head.
- Make little triangular cuts out of it until it looks like a bow.
- Glue down the bow.
- Attach the head so it's slightly overlapping the bow.
- Now cut even smaller pieces out of the small cotton balls left over and roll them between your fingers. Glue onto the top of the sheep's head.
- Write "Fleece Navidad" under the green line. I like to start from the middle of the wording and work my way outwards.
