Our five year old, 10 ft Christmas tree's lights are about half the brightness they were last year. The bottom section is brighter than the rest of the tree, but overall the whole tree is dim. We contacted the company we bought the tree from and they suggested the transformer was going. We replaced the transformer, the bottom part of the tree is now a bit dimmer and the rest of the tree a small bit brighter than with the old transformer, still overall dim. We checked the connections between each section for the wattage and each connection read 25 W as it should be from the 25W transformer. I hope you can suggest a solution to this problem. Thanks.

I would exchange the transformer for another one. If it still doesn't work, you have a problem with the bulbs themselves or the fuses.
If you have already repaced the transformer and it has not helped then this could actually be an issue with some of the fuses in the tree going bad.
Thank you for your response. If we had fuses where would they be located? The connections from section to section are with circular connectors with two prongs, not regular plugs.
This happened to us, because I thought it wasn't to my liking,I added more lights to it. Now so nice and bright!
I have had this issue with my national Christmas tree, 9 led multifunction lights for the past 3 years. The company rep immediately went to you need a new adapter which I got and it didnt fix the problem. Long story short here was my problem. The cord that plugs into the outlet has 4 female ends, my tree has 5 sections. Attach one male end of the 2 bottom sections into 2 of the female plugs. The middle or 3rd section has 2 male ends that plug into the last remaining female plugs on the bottom. One of those lines is just a power extension that has 2 female ends that will give power the top 2 sections.
This sounds exactly like the issue have with my tree. It is also a national tree company led 9 function tree.
I know it has to do with how which male/female plugs I used...but there are so many!. I'm trying to follow your directions, and am a little confused.
If you figure it out, please post. I have the same problem. It's now 2023, and I still have an uneven lit tree. Too many plugs to match up. Upper part of tree is dimmer than bottom. Everything I can find is plugged in except the random extra plug at the bottom wall plug cord.
11/26/23 - The advice above was great. We had same problem (same type of national tree bought roughly 5 years ago) as we had just daisy chained the upper tree sections together and the lights were getting more and more dimmed each year. Attaching the males from the different upper tree sections to the females at the base section made all sections equal brightness and brought the tree back to life this year.
FYI - The only section that we did not attach to the bottom section was the very top of the tree (because it was too far away + no other female connectors left from the bottom section). We just daisy chained that to the 3rd section.
