Silver Post Medal for All Time! 408 Posts Christmas is synonymous with little kids writing up wish lists for their most desired gifts. Make a post box decoration that will remind the kids that they must write their letters to Santa, and post them to the North Pole to tell Santa what they would like to have, if they were good boys and girls, of course. ;-)
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: one post box
Supplies:
- empty toilet paper roll
- empty egg carton tray
- 2 x 1.5 in piece of ordinary white paper
- small golden trumpet decoration
- small candy cane decoration
- red and black acrylic paint
- Epsom salt
- Artline 210 Fineliner black pen
- paintbrush
- embroidery scissors
- standard scissors
- quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)
Steps:
- Use the embroidery scissors to cut a mail flap into the toilet roll and fold the flap upwards.
- Paint the toilet paper roll with the red paint and allow to dry thoroughly.
- From the egg tray, cut a circle that would fit on top of the toilet paper roll. Paint the circle with the black paint and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Spread glue on the black circle and dust the wet glue with salt to add snow to the top of the post box.
- Glue the black circle to the top of the toilet paper roll.
- Use the black pen to write the words "Northpole: Santa's Mail" on the piece of white paper. Make a frame around the piece of paper.
- Glue the piece of paper to the post box.
- Add the trumpet and candy cane.
- Finish it off by adding more snow and optional "bling" to the post box. Ta-daa! Let's contact Santa and send him our wish list...
