Total Time: 30 minutes
Yield: one card
Supplies:
- 8.2 x 6 inch light green shimmer cardstock
- 5.6 x 3.7 inch red cardstock
- A5 sized white textured cardstock
- one silver star
- 0.5 in wide self-adhesive silver fabric tape
- nine 8mm clear self-adhesive flat-sided flower rhinestones
- pencil
- ruler
- standard scissors
- quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)
Steps:
- Score the light green cardstock to create a card sized 6" x 4.1". With the fold at the left, centre and glue the red cardstock to the front of the card.
- Use the ruler to measure strips with a width of 1.2" on the white cardstock.
- Cut seven strips with the following lengths: 3.3"; 3.0"; 2.5"; 2.2"; 1.7"; 1.4" and 1.1".
- Cut small incisions, two thirds into each strip, to simulate the pine-tree leaves.
- Cut the top part of the 1.1" piece into a triangular shape.
- Starting with the biggest strip, glue the seven strips to the front of the card to simulate a pine-tree. Glue the second strip directly above the first one, then the third, then the fourth, etc., until the "tree" has been completed.
- Add the star to the top of the tree.
- Add a strip of fabric tape to the top of the card and cut off any protruding edges. Use another piece of fabric tape to add a tree branch.
- Glue the nine flower rhinestones in random places on the card.
