I Christmas shop all year. Here's how:
Any time I receive a special value sale flyer from my favorite store, I purchase at least one of their on-sale items (I'm practical - everyone receives new undies and socks each year). I do this when I get those rewards points! I then use my rewards points to purchase other gifts. Closer to the holiday/birthday, I will look for one special gift for each receiver also hoping to find a good deal!
When shopping at thrift stores or yard sales, I always look for brand new items that I can use as gifts. It's amazing the amount of new items you can find this way!
I also set aside all of my soda bottle return money, found in the laundry money, and grocery rebate checks to use for my holiday and birthday gift buying.
I seldom need to spend my household allotment for gift giving - as these ideas have paid my way!
