If you are on a budget, a Christmas tree skirt can be pricey. Instead, you can use a blanket as your Christmas tree skirt and get more use from the blanket. Christmas skirts will sit in storage for most of the year anyway. Afterwards give your blanket a nice wash after being on the floor for a month or so.
*Like any tree skit or fabrics near your tree do supervise and turn off lights at night.

A great idea! I use the pretty cloth table cloths or covers. You can buy the after Christmas really cheap.
That is a great idea as well! :) I shop after Christmas clearance at 90% so that's when I splurge! Hehhe
I knitted the tree skirt for my biggest tree, made one out of mattress ticking for my kitchen tree that has mattress ticking ornaments, and for the little tree I use in my dining room, I have an old apron one of my aunts had with poinsettias printed on it. It works perfectly. I wrap the sashes around the tree and tie a bow in front.
