Xmas Help for Teenage Children?

My family recently had to vacate their home because the city of Morgantown deemed it unfit to live in causing us to spend what would've been xmas money on emergency moving. With that being said we no longer have the funds to buy our daughters anything for xmas. I'm a hard working mom with 2 teenage daughters who are great in school. This really put a damper on my holidays. If you know of anyone that can be of assistance please contact me. Thank you have a blessed day.

Maybe you can qualify for "Adopt a Family" program? I think Salvation Army has one in most cities, but check with your local librarian -- she or he will be able to track it down.

You said "we" so I'm assuming their father is also in the picture.
Have you checked to see if your family might qualify for housing assistance?

Qualifications are based on total income as well as the size of the family but you may qualify and that would be a tremendous help with your monthly expenses. HUD has several programs so you should check them out just in case you could qualify.

You should also check out Habitat for Humanity as they have a very good program helping families with owning their own home. Habitat does not offer "free" homes and you do have to have a job and fairly good credit rating so they know you can make monthly payments. This is a good program for families with children.

Many of the holiday programs have already closed so you may have to go personally to Salvation Army and many church thrift stores will help a family in need. Hospice thrift store also will help - just Google for any of these locations.

This one looked promising but it is already closed for this year.
