A blank book for a family journal. Everyone writes something about the family every week for a whole year. It'll be priceless years from now.

Date night. Give them the time to go out on a date every couple of weeks - you make sure house is clean, dinner is made, car is clean, babysitting is covered.

Write your family's Christmas story - what you each like to do, food, games, events - show how important your family is to you.

Home made gift baskets including things like:
Exotic foods from the local world market
Self-decorated mugs and fancy hot chocolate or coffee
Home made caramel apples, chocolate-covered strawberries

Handmade soaps and lotions
Mademade loofas
Crocheted or knitted wash cloths... these are especially nice with baby yarn or chenille
depends on the parents really... anything you think they'd like

The craft store usually has nice baskets to hold everything and pretty ribbons to decorate. Colored plastic wrap is always nice too.

maybe making some coupons like free dog bath, free car wash, or free lawn mow. my parents always love these because then they don't have to do the work or pay me to do it!!

Since my remaining parent is in a home, I have only adult children to make for. I just ADORE the wooden squirrel "table and chair" and I believe they will too.
So, I'm taking a new piece of cedar fencing left over
and making it this next week, perhaps adding a woodburning design here and there? And wrapped in a new small red or green checkered vinyl/flannel-backed picnic tablecloth on sale out of season! They're so very hard to buy for, especially with no money. LOL God bless you. : )

How about a voucher for some child minding? Or a nice photo of all their kids in a frame.

A good present could be dancing lessons. For example, 2 classes for salsa dancing.

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. It's combining thought with cost.

1. Digital photo calendar. (approx. 20 plus Shipping/handling)

2. Digital photo frame...anywhere between 40-100 something...depending on how techy your parents are...you can pick a very nice one or a general basic one.
3. Movie gift cards.
4. Tickets to the theatre.
5. Have them take a picture with all the grandkids...and pay for the photo.
6. Nightgowns/slippers
7. Have the grandkids make something...like an ornament with their picture of them inside...or even better, one with them in it, too.
8. Restaurant gift card.

Or you can just give cash. I know my parents love that the best. Then they can pick out something in their own time and have the power to shop. We usually also give a little something from the kids, so they still have something to open for Christmas.

Good luck!
