Altoid Tin Gift Card Boxes

Decorate Altoids containers and use them as gift card holders.

Approximate Time: 15 minutes

Supplies:

• empty Altoids container(s)
• craft paper
• embellishments such as stickers or rhinestones
• rubber stamps and ink (If desired)

Instructions:

Your altered box is only limited by the supplies you have on hand and your imagination.

1. Dust out the interior of your box.

2. You may spray paint the box if desired, prior to decorating, but it's not necessary.
    
   
    

3. Attach double sided sticky tape to the top and bottom of the box along all edges. Failure to properly tape all 4 edges may make your paper curl up.

4. Trace the shape of the box on the wrong side of your decorative paper.
    

5. Cut out the paper along the outside edge of your lines to make sure the paper is large enough to cover the top of the box. Cut an additional piece if you want to cover the bottom of your box.

6. If desired, emboss the paper using your Bigshot or Cuttlebug for a different look. This works well if using a solid color. See the green stocking box to see the embossed sample.
    

7. Adhere paper to the box and trim off any edges that don't match up with your box.

8. Add cute holiday stickers, ribbons, rhinestones, or stamped images to create a desired look.

9. I created the reindeer and the stocking using a stocking punch from Stampin Up, but these could be easily cut freehand.
    

10. For the reindeer, I added antlers made from a snowflake punch and a red hole punch nose. Ribbon adorns his neck along with a small bell.

11. The stocking topper and heel and toe patches were embellished with glitter paper.
